What To Expect From Salone del Mobile.Milano 2022
This year, Salone del Mobile, the international and much-anticipated design exhibition in Milan, celebrates its 60th year – and there's a lot to look forward to! This year's expo, which will be hosted in Fiera Milano Rho from June 7 to 12, 2022, will feature over 2,000 exhibitors, with over 600 of them being young designers under the age of 35. There's a lot to see and a lot of territory to cover, so here's what you should be paying attention to design wise:
EuroCucina will present the most cutting-edge kitchen design, ranging from material experimentation to technological advancements. Kitchens will continue to be the center of the home, therefore the multifunctional room will need to be flexible as a living, work, and dining space. Foldaway kitchens, novel materials, and contemporary extras, such as wine cellars, greenhouses, and laundry columns, will all be on display. FTK (For The Kitchen)—Technology is a separate pavilion dedicated to the innovative advancement of kitchen technologies, such as smart appliances and sustainable programming, to complement EuroCucina.
From shower cubicles to bathtubs, tap fixtures to bathing materials, the worldwide Bathroom Exhibition focuses on furniture and accessories for the bath environment. Bathrooms have gone a long way in terms of technological developments. Water settings can be controlled by voice recognition technology, and mirrors can be connected to mobile phones. This dedicated place in the house is evolving and developing, and this event will demonstrate the wide range of options available.

S.Project is back to cover all aspects of interior design, from bathrooms to kitchens to outdoor spaces. You'll find the most up-to-date materials, wall coverings, surfaces, and fabrics here. The installation Design with Nature, created and curated by architect Mario Cucinella, will focus on environmental sustainability.
SaloneSatellite will once again highlight the work of designers under the age of 35. The underlying subject for this year is Designing For Our Future Selves, which focuses on how modern design must be sustainable in today's world. This topic will be discussed in the SaloneSatellite Arena through a series of conversations and talks. Future design leaders, schools, and institutions will also display their work here.
Designed especially for Salone del Mobile's 60th edition, La Scatola Magica (The Magic Box) will be on display at Palazzo Reale's Sala Delle Cariatidi from June 7 to 17, 2022. This audiovisual artwork transports guests to a "camera obscura" realm, where the magic of film is projected onto the room's walls, telling a unique story of creativity directed by 11 of Italy's most renowned filmmakers. The Italian talents will be showcased through theater and film in a three-act spectacular.
We can't wait to see what the 60th edition of Salone de Mobile has in store.
